A piezoelectric film deposited on a micro-cantilever atomic force microscope (AFM) probe tip enables the cantilever to remain fully extended, with improved sensing and manipulation of nano-objects.
Using a hollow latex tube as a probe tip with adjustable internal air pressures, nano-objects can be picked up and deposited with good precision, creating new applications.
The invented process allows for the selection of individual carbon nanotubes (CNTs) by selected properties (e.g. physical dimensions and electrical properties) from an initial undifferentiated CNT power with a wide range of CNT properties, with potential applications in the construction of nanodevices.
The invention improves the output of positive displacement pumps for gases with a novel valve, gear, and camshaft design to reduce temporal fluctuations among piston chambers. The improved gas output would benefit HVAC and related industries.
The invention is a fabrication method for producing thick polymeric or composite parts at high speeds and reduced costs. Conventional processes are decoupled under the new design, which uses photopolymerizable compositions for encapsulating microelectronic or other parts.
A method of using UV light and ozone for cleaning "mold release" agents from the surface of plastic and metal parts (e.g., for molding plastics). This method could replace the more expensive chemical cleaning in the manufacturing industries of automobiles, electronics, and consumer products.
